Sketch Comedy Lab

Do you have a sketch that you want feedback on? Do you want to see a staged reading of your sketch? Sign up for a Writers Lab session and join us for a table read where you can receive feedback on your funny script. Following participation in a Writers Lab session, there will be a deadline for submitting your revised sketch for the Sketch Comedy Lab show. This show is a staged reading where actors perform the sketches with scripts in hand with light blocking and no props.

It’s time to test the HA-pothesis!

After a year of goofing off in the laboratory, Sketch Comedy Lab presents its first Report showcasing thirteen laugh-out-loud sketches.

Performed by a brilliant ensemble cast including Cynthia Dallas, Jerome Fitzgerald, Beth Geatches, Jeffrey Johnson, Tal Kroser, Molly Graham, Devin Marshall, Mercy Odhner, and Alistair Spatz.

Written by Eoin Carney, Stefanie Gee, Jeremiah Ion, Ryan Nuzzo, Asher O’Briant, Kevin O’Brien, Megha Pai, Erin Ross, Matt Solter, and Xazrianna Walker. Directed by Connor McCanlus.

Two possibilities exist and both are equally LOL-ifying:
Thursday, July 18th at 8 pm
Friday, July 19th at 9 pm

Sketch Comedy Lab FAQ

Any guidelines for the script I submit?

Guidelines for sketch submissions are as follows:

    • Sketches should be no longer than six (6) pages.
    • Sketches should be written for the stage (rather than for filming) to allow for ease of staging.
    • Completed drafts of sketches will get the most out of this process.
    • Groups may submit a script but one representative must be identified to attend the Writers Lab and oversee the edits.
    • Any scripts that contain jokes or content that go against Arcade’s values or inclusivity statement will not be considered for participation.
