Pittsburgh, PA–Young readers and families are invited to a one-of-a-kind book launch and comedy celebration on Saturday, July 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Arcade Comedy Theater, as local children’s author/illustrator Sarah McDavis debuts the second book in her mystery chapter book series for ages 7–10.
This interactive event blends storytelling, comedy, and creativity in an experience for elementary-aged readers and their families. Highlights include:
- a live chapter reading
- a performance by kids’ improv team Penny Arcade
- puppet comedy sketches
- a mini-zine making station where kids can invent their own animal characters
- a book signing with the author/illustrator
The event is open to the public and great for elementary aged kids and their families.
This new book follows Octo, P.I., the number one case solver at the ZAR&R, in her most mysterious case yet. The animal residents think there’s a ghost in their midst—but Octo, P.I. isn’t convinced. The spooky voice shuts down the nocturnal comedy night, but Octo likes facts that stick and she is determined to follow them. Along the way, she has to conquer her own fear while helping a pirate with their lost treasure, keeping an eye on the Ghost Hunters’s show host, and solving the case before residents start to panic!
